Our faith in Jesus Christ calls for us to be involved in the world around us. Our philosophy is to share this love of Jesus by opening our minds, hearts, and facilities to our community, friends, and neighbors. Some of the many programs supported by Northminster include:
KATRINA MISSION TRIP
OUT OF CHAOS . . . HOPE
Northminster was fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate with other local Presbyterian churches in a mission trip to Gulfport, Mississippi February 18th through the 25th 2006. The purpose of the trip was to assist Hurricane Katrina victims. The relief effort consisted of gutting and cleaning homes and debris, roofing, and general home restoration efforts.
Northminster Presbyterian Church has been serving scouting in our community since our charter in 1960. Troop 236 is in the Hiawatha District of Baden-Powell Council, Boy Scouts of America. Events and camping adventures include campouts at Camp Tuscarora, Camp Barton on the west shore of Cayuga Lake, Highland Forest in Fabius, New York; Greek Peak, and a trip to Niagara Falls. We have also started a new group (Venturing Crew 236) which is a relatively new part of scouting for coed high school youth.
For more information you may contact the Church Office or any Troop 236 member or visit www. bstroup236.org.
Mission outreach at Northminster is always interested in opportunities to serve others in our community. You will find our members helping in many ways. Some of our outreach programs involve the entire church, such as our annual collection of Christmas gifts for needy children. Other missions are of a personal nature or sponsored through the help of our Deacons.
