Mission

Northminster is always interested in opportunities to serve others in our community and you will find our members helping in many ways.  Some of our outreach programs involve the entire church, such as our CHOW Pantry, clothing distribution, and annual collection of Christmas gifts for needy children.  Other missions such as disaster assistance, scholarships, and other emergency needs are of a personal nature and sponsored through the help of our Board of Deacons.

The Mission team also supports the Ethiopian Partnership and helped deliver over 1000 masks with the help of the Presbytery of Susquehanna Valley.

CHOW

Northminster helps provide for the least of these or those who are going through a rough patch through our food pantry with CHOW:  The Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse. Northminster's pantry is open Tuesday evenings and Friday afternoons.  Contact the Broome County Council of Churches or Northminster's church office for a referral.  And if you are interested in volunteering, contact Northminster' church office or the Board of Deacons for more information!

SCOUTING

Northminster Presbyterian Church has been serving scouting in our community since our charter in 1960.  Troop 236 is in the Hiawatha District of Baden-Powell Council, Boy Scouts of America.  The troop meets every Tuesday evening during the school year.  All our hands-on adult leaders are fully trained, having completed BSA Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster leader training, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills.

Events and camping adventures include camp outs at Camp Tuscarora, Highland Forest Park, Glimmerglass State Park, Greenwood Park, and a trip to Niagara Falls.

For more information, you may contact the church office or any Troop 236 member or visit www. bstroop236.org.
